GreenLeaf Pest Control to Appear on Income Property

In Ant Control, Blog, Carpenter Ants, Pest Control

Season eight of HGTV’s Income Property will premiere September 19th at 10pm on HGTV Canada, and we are excited to announce that GreenLeaf Pest Control will be appearing in two episodes!  For the show, we performed residential pest removal treatments for two properties, which included treatment for rats and carpenter ants.  The second episode, which will air on December 12th, should be a real treat, as we will be treating a home that had a serious carpenter ant infestation problem.  Each episode should prove to be both entertaining and educational as you will learn what signs to look for when dealing with invading pests as well as what you can do to remove them from your home.  We are honored to be a part of this great show and hope you check us out this fall and winter as we deal with some nasty, intruding pests.  Look out for us in episodes 93 and 104, which air on September 19th and December 12th respectively.

For those of you new to HGTV’s Income Property, the show is about helping first time home buyers turn part of their home into a money maker to help with the mortgage. The show’s host, Scott McGillivra, creates different design options which range in price and function for the homeowners to choose from. The homeowners then select the renovation they like the most and that area of the home is renovated. But like any remodeling experience, things can, and often do, go wrong. When this happens, Scott McGillivray calls in a professional for help, and thats where we come in. Two of the homes in season eight had bad pest problems that required a third-party professional to handle.

Episode One: Rat Treatment for Michael and Karen

In our first appearance on the new season of Income Property, we helped home owners Michael and Karen with a rat problem. Scott McGillivray had concern that there might be rats living in the house so we were brought in to treat the property. The rat treatment we performed included inspection for entry points around the entire house, exclusion to prevent future entry, and general rat control and removal. Although we have limited appearance in this episode, it was a nasty situation we are sure you’ll enjoy watching. This episode will air on income property’s first episode of the season on September 19th at 10pm on HGTV Canada and 7pm on HGTV.

Episode Two: Carpenter Ant Extermination for Allan and Nasreen

We are very excited about our second appearance on the show and we are sure you will enjoy it.  On December 12th, we will be in an episode that is truly gruesome! The property we treated was infested with carpenter ants.  For the uninitiated, carpenter ants are black and red ants that excavate wood to build their nests.  Although they usually look for decayed wood in trees, carpenter ants can be a threat to homeowners as well.  They can infest nearly every area of a home, including decks, porches, and the framework of a home.  Once they enter, they can be detrimental to the wood and foundation leaving homeowners with a large bill for repair.  When an infestation occurs, it doesn’t take long for the carpenter ants to damage the wood while building their nests, making the quick extermination of them very important.  The home in our second appearance of Income Property was infested with carpenter ants.  We performed a full-home extermination for homeowners Allan and Nasreen to ensure that the carpenter ants were removed from the property so that no further damage was done.  This episode was a lot of fun to shoot and we think it will be amazing once it airs.

Whether you are a fan of the show or are interested in seeing how we treated these two nasty pests, we know you will enjoy watching both episodes of Income Property we appear in this season. Each episode will also be a great learning experience as you will see how to detect your home for infestations as well as what you can do to get them out. You will be amazed at how difficult it can be to spot these pests in your home and how much damage they can do if left untreated.
